SUITA AWASEDO
208 - 78 - 43mm
1.5 kg. = 3.3 lbs.
A very even grained suita stone that is boarder line tomae because it
is so regular in consistency. The sides are sealed in the highest quality
gold urushi that has a red primer underground which is the traditional
technique to give the gilt a rich glow. The stone is not cracked or damaged in
any way, so the stone merchant went to this extra expense to dress up this stone
as a marketing tool. A nice touch that will only help to extend the life
of the stone.
This is a medium hard awasedo that will draw up black iron particles
quickly while yielding some paste without the use of a DN* suggesting that
this stone would be good for hard steels like super blue. I would estimate
that the grit would be in the upper 30,000 levels.
