SHIRO SUITA AWASEDO w/tons of renge 204 - 73 - 25mm .95 kg. = 2 lbs. Marked at the upper right in small kanji TOKUSEN (specially chosen). And next to the left SEI HON ZAN SUITA (original mountain suita strata) And down the center SEI KOKYU HIN (very best quality). A classic renge stone that is just rich with full bloom renge lotus flower red patterns, and so much so that the stone itself has a sort of purplish hue to it. The back of the stone is beautifully hand chiseled and also has plenty of renge. This stone cuts very fast and is a joy to use and is a real show piece. This is a medium hard stone but it can be used easily with just water, no diamond nagura needed because the cutting qualities are so excellent. I would estimate that the stone has a grit in the 38,000-40,000 range.
